The current waiting list for women and their families seeking alcohol and other drug treatment services is increasing each day. Women are faced with months of waiting, hoping a bed will open up for them. With each day, is the chance to return to old lifestyles and habits that could tear apart families or even end lives.

Missouri has seen an extreme increase in the number of opiate related overdoses over the past several years. Along with the opioid epidemic hitting close to home, alcohol and a number of other substances often find their way into the lives of our loved ones and take everything down with them. There has been limited opportunities for women to find a safe place to lay their heads during the transitional period between treatment and returning home. A number of facilities within the state of Missouri have waiting lists that don't allow immediate entry into a sober living home. St. Charles County more specifically has only three sober living homes for women, with each home holding up to only ten women at one time.

In 2017, 314 women were admitted into treatment in St. Charles County. Countless women were unable to secure a bed in a sober living facility for the lack of room. With only three homes in St. Charles County, that leaves a number of women at risk for relapse and little opportunity to ease back into their home environment.

Help us give women hope, who need it now more than ever!
